The Big (Revo)LatchOn!

As National Breastfeeding Month and World Breastfeeding Week roll along, the events celebrating nursing are popping up all across the globe!

Today and tomorrow, August 3rd and 4th, The Big Latch On 2012 is taking place. Women all over the world will be meeting at registered locations, synchronizing their little ones, and nursing their babies together, in an effort to raise awareness and support for breastfeeding in both their local and global communities.

While this is a global event, it is hosted by individual communities of people. This means there is a lot of diversity in the way it’s put on. And one of the best things about this event is the local flavor that each community adds to it. In my little part of the world, we’re having a pot luck, play date style, park meet-up and nurse in. My kids can’t wait!

For all of Ventura, California’s nursing mamas who are interested in joining us tomorrow, check out our local event on Facebook, and the global Facebook page, too.

As a side note, we might just break the world record for number of babies/mommies latched on simultaneously… Go Boobies!
